Terms of service.

These terms apply to your use of this website and to communications you send through it. Project work itself is governed by the written contract you sign with Excelon Construction at the start of any project.

About this website

This website is operated by Excelon Construction, a New York City licensed Home Improvement Specialist (HIS License 2073937-DCA). Use of the site indicates acceptance of these terms.

Information accuracy

We make every effort to ensure the information on this site is accurate, particularly regarding pricing ranges, materials, methods, regulatory information (Local Law 11 / FISP, LPC processes), and general restoration guidance.

However: regulatory rules change, building conditions vary, prices shift, and every project has unique factors. Information on this site is general guidance, not specific advice for your building. Decisions about your specific building should be made based on a written quote and direct communication with us, not based solely on website content.

The journal articles in particular reflect our experience and current understanding. They are not legal advice, engineering advice, or financial advice. Consult appropriate professionals (lawyers, engineers, accountants) for those.

Estimates and quotes

Free walkaround estimates and verbal pricing ranges given during the estimate stage are not binding contracts. They reflect our preliminary read of the project scope. Final pricing, scope, materials, timeline, and terms are set in the written contract signed by both parties before work begins.

Written quotes are typically valid for 30-60 days from issuance. After that period, prices may need to be re-confirmed if material costs have changed.

Project work

All Excelon project work is governed by a written contract that covers:

  • Specific scope of work and materials
  • Total project price and payment schedule
  • Project timeline and start/completion dates
  • Permits, scaffolding, and access requirements
  • Workmanship warranty terms
  • Change order process
  • Termination and dispute resolution

Nothing on this website creates a contract. Only the signed written agreement does.

Limitation of liability

This website is provided "as is." We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this site or reliance on information presented here.

Project-related liability is governed by the contract, by NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection regulations applicable to licensed home improvement contractors, and by our general liability insurance.

Intellectual property

Photos of Excelon projects on this website are property of Excelon Construction. Project case studies, journal articles, and other written content are also property of Excelon Construction. You are welcome to share links to our pages and to quote brief excerpts with attribution, but please do not republish full content or photos without permission.

Client testimonials reflect individual experiences and are reproduced with client permission. Names of clients who chose to remain anonymous are withheld at their request.

Third-party links

Some pages on this site link to third-party resources (NYC DOB, NYC LPC, NYC DCWP, regulatory pages, manufacturer websites). We do not control these third-party sites and are not responsible for their content. Links are provided for your convenience.

NYC home improvement contractor regulations

As a licensed NYC Home Improvement Contractor, our work is subject to NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection regulations including:

  • Required written contracts for all projects above the regulatory threshold
  • 3-day right of cancellation for residential projects
  • Limits on deposits and progress payments
  • Mandatory dispute resolution channels through DCWP

Our contracts comply with these requirements, and you can review the full DCWP regulations at nyc.gov/dcwp.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be reflected on the site; substantive ones may be communicated to active clients.
